Izziwotnot’s Bailey Sleigh cot-bed isn't cheap but it's stylish and well made. It's simple to put together, although it will require two people. It also is beautiful in any nursery. Our panel loved the dark wood and the dowel sides. It's robust enough to be used until your baby is a toddler. It also is compliant with British safety standards. The depth is not enough that your child can climb out the panel, and the distance between slats must not exceed 65mm. This should stop their heads from being trapped. It is important to remember that you'll need buy a mattress separately, which is an extra PS88.

The sleigh-shaped cot is really beautiful and makes it stand out from the rest. It's also very easy to get your baby in and out, which is a major benefit. It's slightly more expensive than other cot beds, but our panel felt it was worth the extra cash for the style and durability.

The cot bed is available in the options of the finishes of country pine or walnut and is suitable from birth. It has three useful mattress heights, meaning you can start your baby by putting the base up so that they can easily access it during the day and night, then lower it as they grow. It has teething rails to ensure your child's furniture is protected as well as gums. When your child is out of their cot bed you can easily change it into a junior mattress, and then it can be a couch.

Silver Cross' westport design is another cot that has an incredibly solid feel and constructed to last. It can be used from birth as a cot, later as a toddler bed, and then as an adult bed. (Toddler guard rails are sold separately). It was a little difficult for our panel members to convert the cot into a bed but their other halves said it was simple and took less than 5 minutes. It's a bit more expensive than other models, but you'll want to keep it for your kids when they are older.
